Power Skating
Skating is the fundamental skill to every hockey player's game. Over the years hockey has evolved into a speed and skills game. That is why it is essential to learn efficient skating. In order to gain an advantage over the opposition it is important to retain as much energy as possible during the game. Efficient skating can be learned by every type of skater through understanding and executing the proper biomechanics of a stride.

Our Power Skating program focuses on proper body position, leg motion and muscle memory through repetition. This specific training system was designed by Quantum Speed. Come learn about the Quantum Speed philosophy of T+P=S (Technique + Power = Speed).

Skills and knowledge learned:

  • Obtain maximal stride length and frequency (forwards and backwards).
  • Train and breakdown the different steps to a stride (forwards and backwards).
  • Learn how to maximize speed through stops and turns.
  • Gain a bigger and more powerful first step.
  • On ice core stability exercises.
  • Speed and quickness of lateral skating (forwards and backwards).
  • Over speed training.
  • Quick feet.
  • Skate tricks.
  • A look at proprioception (making players aware of what their body position is).
  • Skate bigger, better, faster and stronger.

*Every program is built on an individual basis to fulfill the needs of players and teams at all levels of play.
